Winter party ideas can include activities such as downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and skating. Trails abound through most cities and golf courses and are fairly easy to access in the winter. There are many parks that have a flat in the snow skating rink or a pond that is frozen over for the same purpose.
These areas quite often have fire pits and picnic sights that are easy to use all year. Spending time around a fire pit while taking a break from skating can be fun, especially for those catching up or roasting hot dogs. Bringing lunch or dinner in the picnic basket to share, like potluck, will be appreciated by everyone. It is also easy to put hot dogs on a stick and burgers on the grill. Don’t forget the marshmallows.
Another fun evening in winter is to have a hot tub party. Those who would like a party but don’t have a hot tub will find that it is not that expensive to rent one for two days. A winter barbeque to start off the party with is easy and there is little clean up to worry about. If you do not want to make a large dinner, then lay out the finger foods so everyone can help themselves.
If you have the party indoors, keep decorations “cool.” Use whites and light blue. Chiffon fabrics are inexpensive and are an easy way to add instant mood. Drape tables with white tablecloths and throw the chiffon over that.
You can also purchase quilt stuffing for very little cost, which you can spread around like snow. Cut out snowflakes are easy to make and look great.
